Competition programme
Petra Vidali has made a decision
The selector of the 52nd Theatre Festival, Petra Vidali, has just chosen the competition programme and soon we will confront with the best performances of the year:
- Georg Büchner: Leonce and Lena, directed by Mateja Koležnik, produced by Ljubljana City Theatre,
- Mile Korun: The Consultant [1], directed by Nina Rajić Kranjac, produced by Ljubljana City Theatre,
- Based on Colm Tóibín’s novel The Testament of Mary: The Immaculate/Immaculata, produced by the Drama of the Slovenian National Theatre
- Simon Stephens: The Birdland, directed by Janusz Kica, produced by the Drama of the Slovenian National Theatre
- Gregor Strniša: The Cannibals, directed by Ivica Buljan, produced by by the Drama of the Slovenian National Theatre,
- After the motives of Heinrich Böll and Janis Varufakis: Powerlessness, directed by Primož Ekart, produced by Imaginarni in coproduction with Mini teater,
- The Tiger Lillies, Julian Crouch, Phelim McDermot: Shockheaded Peter, directed by Ivana Djilas, produced by Slovenian National Theatre Nova Gorica,
- The Man Who Watched the World, directed by Žiga Divjak, produced by Mladinsko Theatre,
- Agnieszka Jakimiak: Hitchcock, directed by Weronika Szczawińska, produced by Mladinsko Theatre,
- Sophocles: Antigone, directed by Eduard Miler, produced by Slovenian National Theatre Drama Ljubljana
- Bible, the First Attempt, directed by Jernej Lorenci, produced by Slovenian National Theatre Drama Ljubljana,
- The Bedbug, directed by Jernej Lorenci, produced by Prešeren Theatre Kranj in coproduction with Ptuj City Theatre.
[1] Due to recent unfortunate events, the show will not be performed at the Festival.
